FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Today, the Sumter County Tax Collector’s office went live with TaxSys®, Grant Street Group’s state-of-the-art, web-based tax collection and billing system and integrated suite of tax collection software. Sumter County is the 15th Florida Tax Collector’s office to convert to TaxSys since the system was launched in 2006. The Tax Collector’s office collects nearly $170 million in property taxes on more than 74,000 parcels each year.

“Simply put, the TaxSys conversion process was flawless, as was the support along the way,” said Randy Mask, Sumter County Tax Collector. “We covered a lot of ground in a short amount of time, but Grant Street paced the project just right, enabling us to continue our regular work along side the implementation without issue.”

Sumter County’s conversion to TaxSys took just over six months, beginning in July 2013 and concluding on February 3, 2014. This included the transition to PaymentExpress®, which allows the Tax Collector’s Office to accept all major credit cards and debit cards at each branch office and online, in addition to e-checks.

“We congratulate the Sumter County Tax Collector’s office on a successful TaxSys launch. All their hard work made this implementation possible,” said Ian Yorty, Grant Street Group’s Director of Business Development. “The Sumter conversion was important to Grant Street on a number of fronts. It allowed us to fine tune some aspects of our implementation process to make it more efficient. Sumter is a delight to work with, and we look forward to a long and productive relationship with them,” continued Mr. Yorty.
