Meet Jessica: Business Analyst Intern (Summer 2019)
August 9, 2019Jessica, one of our 2019 Business Analyst Interns, is majoring in History and English at Grove City College.
What project(s) have you focused on this summer?
I work directly with the Client Systems Integration team, so I’ve worked on several smaller projects this summer. Currently, I am running a trend analysis of tech support for PaymentExpress, Grant Street’s electronic payment processing software.
What interested you in the Business Analyst position?
My favorite part of studying history is the research aspect. I love looking at a complex question from many different angles. This is essentially what a Business Analyst does as well, but instead of investigating a proposed causality in history, I’m tackling a question of finding causality in technical issues.

What is your favorite thing about being an intern at Grant Street?
My favorite thing about working here are the people. Everyone goes out of their way to make you feel welcomed and are willing to help you if you need it. As an intern, I am able to explore different aspects of the company based on interest, getting the opportunity to work on new projects and receiving the necessary training. I’ve never worked for a company as invested in their employees, and it makes for a great work environment.
How has your internship helped you prepare for life after college ?
One of the most surprising aspects of this internship is the amount of independence we are given, which is reflective of employment in the real world. How we manage our time is up to us, we schedule our own days and can pursue more training as we wish. I have been able to develop a work schedule that will help me as I transition into full-time employment.
If you could describe Grant Street in one word what would it be?
Invested. Grant Street is genuinely invested in their clients and their employees. They care about the people they work for and who work for them, and will put in the time and effort needed for everyone to do well.
